The tip that led to the FBI’s DC subway bomb-plot sting came from a source in the Muslim community, law-enforcement officials said yesterday.

That tip in early January led to an elaborate ruse in which Farooque Ahmed, a naturalized citizen, was given intelligence-gathering duties and coded information in a Koran by two people posing as al Qaeda operatives, all part of a supposed plot to attack the DC subway system.    »»» NYPOST.com (U.S.)
