The forcible closing of girls’ schools is a conspiracy against Islam, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday.

“That is not what Islam teaches us. Islam was the religion that gave women their rights and stressed the need for education for every Muslim, irrespective of gender. Those who are against female education in fact are working against the teachings of Islam,” Ahsan said while speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly.   »»» Daily Times (Pakistan)
